The world famous Walnut Room has been a Chicago tradition since 1907. Located on the 7th floor of Macy's on State Street, the Walnut Room was the first restaurant ever opened in a department store. Conveniently located in the heart of the Chicago theater district, the Walnut Room is an excellent choice to take a break from shopping or for a meal and a glass of wine before the show.

    We had a great overall experience! Our server was great! The prices are very reasonable for such high quality food! The check in process was confusing and I wasn’t told to stay in line after checking in. My party waited 15 minutes because of the confusion. When I asked the girl who checked me in, she was rude and never apologized. (The main hostess was very nice)

    Amazing experience in a beautiful, historic venue! Food and service were incredible. Very hardworking staff are committed to excellent customer experience and were so helpful even though it was extremely busy for the holiday.

    There is nothing more iconic than eating at the Walnut Room at Christmas time 🎄. The combination of the gorgeous tree, the walnut paneled room, the chicken pot pie 🥧 and the Frangomint ice cream pie are the perfect way to kick off the holiday Season in Chicago! Our waiter James was outstanding too!

    Fantastic experience! Showed up without a reservation and kept refreshing until one popped up. Great pot pie and drink choices. Very accommodating and quality food. Plus a wonderful Christmas tree for photos
