The Wave Kitchen & Bar, offers an ocean-front dining space with amazing views of the Atlantic. The restaurant offers a menu directly sourced from local farmers, fishermen and artisanal purveyors. The Wave concept was designed to offer a dining experience similar to what one would encounter at a hospitable and cozy dinner party at a friend’s home with generous attention to detail. The open kitchen and customizable selections aim to engage guests.The Wave will also feature select Cuban specialties developed by Costa’s owners, Emilio and Gloria Estefan, from their Estefan Kitchen cookbook.

The Estefan Kitchen

Served with White Rice, Black Beans and Sweet Plantains. In 1992, we had the opportunity to open our first restaurant, Larios on the Beach, on historic Ocean Drive, in Miami Beach. We did so in honor of my grandmother, Consuelo Garcia, who had made a wonderful career in food when she emigrated from Cuba to Miami, FL, in 1962. We also wanted to further promote our culture and heritage through our food as we had done with our music throughout the world. Excellent service as always and food did not disappoint. One of our favorite spots, especially to take out of town guests for an excellent meal!

Was seated promptly at our reservation time. After that we were completely ignored for almost half an hour until I stopped a server who had passed our table several times and asked if she would find out who our server was. A couple of minutes later she came back and apologetically said she was our server, but the hostess neglected to tell her. I had annotated in my reservation that were celebrating a wedding anniversary. Not until after we had paid our check and close to leaving did the hostess come over to inquire as to who was celebrating an anniversary. All that happened after that was the hostess telling us about her marriage. Nothing was offered to add to our celebration. Not even an offer to refill my ice tea. I had expected better from this establishment.

Busy night…husband’s appetizer came out quickly. Next thing they’re bringing out our entrees within ten minutes of ordering…he hadn’t finished his appetizer and I never received mine, nor the drink I ordered. The rhythm of the restaurant seemed off, another table near us received wrong food. Things definitely felt rushed…very unlike our last experience there.

First time to this restaurant. Three of us dined and all of our meals -- Grilled Mahi, Grilled Red Snapper and House Paella were outstanding. Large portions and plenty to share around the table. It was a nice surprise, although it can get quite loud -- lots of tile and glass.

The food and the wait service was excellent. As with many places especially during the peak season, restaurant was understaffed for the number of diners on this specific night. The noise level was very high which made for difficult table conversation for a table of 4.

The waffles were served cold so the waitress cheerfully replaced them. I asked for hollandaise sauce on side of Eggs Benedict so they redid and credited us. They tried really hard to please us. I would go back.
