The internationally acclaimed Whaling Station Steakhouse, perched just above Steinbeck’s Cannery Row has been Monterey County’s #1 Steak House for over 50 years, The Whaling Station takes the term “Steakhouse” seriously...Select your USDA Prime cut of the USA’s finest beef from a silver tray or enjoy our slow-roasted USDA Prime, Prime Rib. An award-winning wine list and full spirits bar compliment your dining experience. Serving Dinner and cocktails from 4:30pm daily. The Bar at The Whaling Station Steakhouse has its own menu and its own local following, with drink specials and lively conversation served nightly. Parking in our private lot.
A private, 50-seat banquet room is also available.

    Food is delicious 10/10 with generous portions. Our server (I think his name was David), was very knowledgeable, funny, professional, got the food and drinks out at the appropriate times. Him, his staff, and the food and restaurant made our Valentine’s Day dinner very memorable! Will definitely be back!

    The French onion soup was to die for. The porterhouse for two was perfectly cooked. Jose our waiter was excellent and attentive. Another perfect outing at the Whaling Station.

    A really traditional steakhouse with one of the beast steaks I’ve ever tasted. I had the prime ribeye which was the best tasting steak I’ve ever had. My wife had the sand dabs which was perfectly cooked and tasted delicious. The sides(garlic mashed potatoes and veggies) were equally as tasty! They offer a great wine list as well. The service was top notch with all our needs being met. We highly recommend this restaurant for a truly great dining experience.

    My son who lives in Maryland, his buddy who lives in Overland Park KS and my good friend from Las Vegas have meet in Monterey every year for many years to attend the AT&T Pro Am for a day and play rounds of golf nearby, before and after. We always designate the last night of our trip as “Whaling Station night” as there is no better way to end a fun filled trip than to dine there! We are always greeted with fantastic food and drink, great ambiance and top shelf service and are never disappointed. Our next trip is a year away and we all can’t wait to return to the Whaling Station!

    Food and drinks were good. Drinks were a little light and beef wellingtons were a little small and overcooked.

    A classic steakhouse with amazing service and perfectly selected and cooked steaks. The American Kobe New York Strip was superb, cooked to perfection, and melted in my mouth. Highly recommended!

    The service was amazing! The food was also amazing! My husband had the filet, and I had the sand dabs almondine. We had Caesar salad made table side. Yum!! The Pavlova desert, which is their signature desert, was just so so, in our opinion. But overall, this was an excellent dining experience, and we will definitely be back!!!
