The Winery Restaurant has been an icon among western Colorado restaurants for over 35 years. The restaurant makes its home in a 95 year old building that used to house a horse drawn fire station. A gas lamp lit, grapevine canopied alley frames this romantic location perfectly. The beautifully remodeled building contains flowered stain glass windows, barn wood and bricks.

Steve Thoms acquired the restaurant in late June of 2004 after taking a couple of years off from his previous restaurant. His mission at he Winery is simple: Show the restaurant and its patrons the attention that they deserve. Use only top quality ingredients, and establish The Winery as the premiere restaurant in the Grand Junction area.

The Winery provides a variety of steaks, chicken, pork and fresh seafood specials nightly in an atmosphere that can not be rivaled anywhere!

As a solo diner I really appreciate great service. Savannah at the bar was amazing. She is not only a good bartender but makes certain you never feel forgotten. Food is simply outstanding and never disappoints. It’s very rare for the owner of a restaurant to come by and check on each diner but Steve does and makes sure that everyone is being taken care of in his restaurant.

The winery has great ambiance, unfortunately the Chilean sea bass was terrible. It tasted like old Tilapia doused in garlic. I let the head waiter know but he just insisted they did not have any fish just sitting around given all their business. The wine was good and so was our waiter. I will not be returning. I had been told there were no great restaurants in this town and I was hoping given the menu that this place was the exception.

Really enjoyed it. Service outstanding. Don’t pass up the mushroom appetizer. Great “special occasion “ place.

Always a pleasurable experience. The owner himself greeted us and welcomed us in. Waiter and support staff were all friendly and engaging.

I have been to a lot of nice restaurants throughout the country but I still have not been to any that compare with The Winery in Grand Junction, Colo. Not only is the food outstanding but the service is always above what you would expect. Also the atmosphere is very classy but still makes you feel comfortable & relaxed. I have been going to this restaurant for over 30 years now & I still love it.
