Located in the heart of beautiful downtown Canmore, Alberta The Wood Restaurant and Lounge offers casual dining with attentive and friendly service. Our menu features Alberta beef steaks, homemade burgers and pasta, BBQ chicken and ribs, a wide selection of sandwiches and salads, and a kids menu featuring mini burgers and kids chicken fingers. We are also open daily for breakfast.

The Wood Restaurant and Lounge is located in the log building at the corner of Main Street and 8th Avenue in Canmore and offers breathtaking views from the best patio in town. The lounge offers 18 draft beers on tap, a wine list featuring 30 wines from 30 vines, our signature cocktail list featuring the green tea zentini, the organic martini, and our famous peach bellini. Eight big screen plasma televisions offer up all the big sporting events. Wireless internet is available throughout, including the 120 seat patio......which offers great views of the local mountains.

Celebrate New Years Eve 2025 at The Wood Restaurant with our amazing four course dinner in our cozy log cabin setting. Choose either an early or later seating. First Seating for the evening is between 4:30pm to 6:30pm *We kindly ask that all parties adhere to a 2 hr dining time during the first seating. If you would like more time, please join us for our second seating that starts at 7pm. Our New Years Eve 2025 Menu features Alberta beef, BC salmon, classic slow braised chicken and vegetarian options. A true disappointment. We went there for our anniversary dinner based off previous reviews and from the time we walked in, it failed to live up to the reviews. The drinks we ordered were bad as in they had barely any flavor and barely any alcohol, even though we ordered doubles. The steaks were tough and fatty, and everything else on our plate just seemed so thoughtlessly prepared. Also, our order came out about 5 minutes after we placed it which showed by how wilted and soggy the vegetables were, as they we probably prepared earlier and we reheated for our meal. And about our anniversary…we entered this info in our Open Table reservation, but not a mention about it, which is fine, but then why ask. Hopefully this was just an unlucky night and their usual service is much better, but on this night, we left disappointed.

Good good and drinks. Server was awesome. Was a beautiful day to sit outside however the wasps scared us inside. Will visit again!

We know this restaurant so we know what to expect. Usually I like it quieter (not empty, just some nice quiet music and fewer people) but I didn't mind the happy babble this time.

Loved the vibe and the service was fantastic! The patio looked spacious but we opted to warm up inside and the decor was so cute! Good food too!

The service was horrible. We walked up to the host stand to check into our reservation and three servers and the hostess walked by us refusing to make eye contact before we finally had to go ask someone if we could check in. Everything took forever, especially getting the bill. Food was just okay, view was amazing. Won’t go back.

Four of us visiting from the U.S. had lunch outside at The Wood. Three had the haddock sandwich special with spinach and pea soup as our side. The fourth ordered the grilled chicken sandwich also with the soup. Two of us enjoyed the Hefe Octoberfest beer. All of us agreed that the food and drinks were delicious and that Vanessa provided superior service. The outdoor deck area has nice views of the mountains and fire pit style heaters, making lunch outdoors in cool weather very pleasant. Highly recommended!
