Located in the heart of beautiful downtown Canmore, Alberta The Wood Restaurant and Lounge offers casual dining with attentive and friendly service. Our menu features Alberta beef steaks, homemade burgers and pasta, BBQ chicken and ribs, a wide selection of sandwiches and salads, and a kids menu featuring mini burgers and kids chicken fingers. We are also open daily for breakfast.

The Wood Restaurant and Lounge is located in the log building at the corner of Main Street and 8th Avenue in Canmore and offers breathtaking views from the best patio in town. The lounge offers 18 draft beers on tap, a wine list featuring 30 wines from 30 vines, our signature cocktail list featuring the green tea zentini, the organic martini, and our famous peach bellini. Eight big screen plasma televisions offer up all the big sporting events. Wireless internet is available throughout, including the 120 seat patio......which offers great views of the local mountains.

Amazing as always! This restaurant is one of my top 5 in the world. We will eat here at least 2 more times during our 4 day stay in the area.

We were hoping to secure a new favorite restaurant but sadly were underwhelmed by the Wood. Also found their website to be out of date, not coordinating with the in-house menu.

We both had the Cajun Maple Chicken. The chicken was perfectly done and the mashed potatoes and veggies were really delicious. We highly recommend sharing the Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert but we would have liked it better had it been warmed up just a touch. Also, we were seated by the exit doors and there was a bit of a winter chill around our legs throughout our visit. Even though it was a busy place, we should have asked to move. Other than that, a nice night out.

We have eaten here for years going back to when it was the Sherwood. We chose the dining room thinking it would be quieter but apparently it’s a popular place to bring kids which we should have known because we used to bring ours. So if you want an adult experience, sit in the lounge. Menu could be larger but it has good steaks which I wasn’t into that night. Large selection of craft beers on tap. It was winter but of course it is still Canmore’s premier patio.

The food was very awful and the drinks were meh, poor servers have to deal with it

Booked for Christmas Eve , really lovely and efficient waitress. Food was good , wine lovely. Its a like expensive for what it is but overall a solid 7.5

Service was horribly slow due to lack of staff not our servers fault. Food was only mediocre because it wasn’t hot when it came out. The herald pretty disappointed with our experience.
