Tom Ham’s Lighthouse was built in 1971 by a man who was not afraid to put his name on his product. Rooted in warm welcomes & excellent food, Tom Ham made his lifelong dream a reality. Tom Ham’s Lighthouse is the only restaurant in the US to have a USCG operated & maintained Lighthouse attached to it. You can locate us on any modern nautical map as Beacon #9. Featuring a 100% responsibly resourced seafood menu & award winning Sunday Champagne Brunch, we are a must when it comes to the San Diego food scene. The dining room, purposely shaped like the state of California, allows for groups as grand as 50 yet private enough for a couple’s night out. Holiday brunches have been long time family traditions for many San Diegans. Start your family’s tradition this next holiday. With the best views of the Downtown City Skyline, Coronado & San Diego Bay, Tom Ham's is & remains a San Diego tradition in dining excellence since 1971.

The employees at the hostess were very friendly as was the waiter & servers. However, the food wasn’t very good. The calamari was bland and the rings were tiny and there were way too many of the ‘bodies’. We were sharing a salad and lobster roll. Unfortunately, both came out together. We had the asparagus, roasted corn salad and it was bland. The dressing was so mild we could barely taste it. The lobster roll had such a heavy dose of seasoning that the flavor of the lobster was overwhelmed. Here they should’ve added some of that lemon salad dressing. Service was nothing special. We had to ask for plates so we could split the dishes. Drinks weren’t refilled without asking. Last summer we had a great lunch, but I don’t think we’ll return.

Beautiful historic venue with views of San Diego Bay from almost every table. The views- continually changing from catamarans to Aircraft carriers. History- the dining room is in the shape of the State of California. The beacon of light has been shining on the bay for almost 100 years. It is maintained by the Coast Guard. Food- delicious and beautifully presented. We had mussels, fried oysters, grilled peppers, beet salad, and the Yellow tail fish. We were pleased with all of our selections. You can also order seafood individually. Server Alicia was quite informative and attentive. Thank you for a pleasingly memorable afternoon/evening.

Unpleasantly loud and mediocre food. Pretty view, spoiled by the noise inside.

This is our romantic spot to go to in San Diego. Sunset time is magical for us. However, the noise level in the restaurant is really loud. I don't remember the noise before they remodeled. Next time we will sit outside where it should be much quieter. We opted inside this time because of the climate. Take away - Service is fantastic, food is over the top and their New England Claim Chowder is the best we have tasted in San Diego.

tom Ham's Lighthouse is a spacious restaurant set in a stunning overwater venue with great views of the San Diego harbor. The service was outstanding. The New England clam chowder was rich and full of clam meat. Their quirky version of a Shrimp Louie was a little off-putting. While the ingredients were good by themselves, getting two wedges of iceberg lettuce instead of having it shredded meant either a tedious process of cutting it up or enjoying the ingredients sequentially. I would definitely go to this restaurant again when in next in San Diego, but would search for a different entee.

Lobster rolls a disappointment. I could swear my top shelf rum piña colada was rail rum. Chopped langostinos on a hot dog bun and call it a lobster roll.
