   The steamed mussel starter comes with crumbles of Spanish chorizo, shaved garlic, shallots, saffron butter sauce, calabrese peppers and olive oil green herb toasted bread. The small pieces of calabrese red pepper are mild, the Spanish chorizo is a very amazing flavor of spicy piminton and crispy pork. It is the most stunning flavor experience of all the steamed mussel dishes I have ever had! The arugula salad is a must try especially to balance pasta or gnocchi dishes that have rich sauces. You will need bites of arugula with those dishes. You will want that salad on your pasta plate! Portions are generous and they do not skimp on shrimp or other seafood!

   The atmosphere was lovely overall. All four people at our table had lukewarm reviews of their meals (fish was overdone, for example). The service was exceptionally slow, and we had to flag down our waitress to check on our order after seeing several other tables with food delivered. We ordered a nice bottle of wine; other than the first pour, the waitress never returned to refill or check in on our feedback for food or drink. They were quick to clear the table, however, and we left disappointed that our experience did not measure up to our expectations.

   Overall out standing experience. Arrived earlier than reserved and were able to be seated on a busy Friday evening. Waiter was both knowledgeable and helpful as well as very pleasant. All 3 entrees were exceptional, I don’t think any are less than superb. Enjoyed the energetic but not overly loud ambiance. A definite go to when in Santa Barbara.

   The gem of West Beach if not Santa Barbara. Elegant without being stuffy, a wonderful culinary experience. Beautiful ambiance, right on the beach, great staff, inviting bar, always a pleasure to be there. Great for locals and tourists alike.
