The whole family of 15 was coming to SF for Thanksgiving for a celebration of life. Open Table didn't accept a group that large, so we called Top of the Mark directly. We were told, "make two reservations on Open Table for the number." Unfortunately, Open Table wouldn't allow one person to make two reservations, so Top of the Mark indicated, "make a second reservation with someone else with a note to combine the two reservations." We did that. We kept in touch with Top of the Mark all the way up to the date of the reservation to make sure our party of 15, following the instructions from Top of the Mark, would be seated together. We arrive on Thanksgiving to Top of the Mark and: NOPE. No setting for our party of 15. We were asked to stand off to the side to wait while they tried to put a bunch of tables together for our party. In the end, we didn't get to sit together and we're at two separate tables. Additionally, the whole event was a complete debacle. Hundreds of people arriving for a 1pm seating that they clearly were not ready for. Lines for food wrapped around the buffet. Not enough room around the buffet to walk around. They constantly ran out of dinner plates. They constantly ran out of food. Want to wait 30 minutes standing in line for food? Want to eat cold food by the time you got back to your seat? This was the place to be. Food was also rancid in part. A member of my party had a dessert that was rancid and the cooking staff eventually tried it and took the whole tray away, it was that bad. Chafing dishes were full of hot water but the lids were not properly balanced, so they tipped over and spilled scalding water everywhere. This event was just one big shyte show and definitely not worth $200/person. Such a horrible experience, and my family used to go here annually They need to bring back the service and hospitality pre -pandemic, or at the very least hire people who know what the hell they are doing. (Same event advertised for Christmas. DON'T GO!)

The lines were too long and they had run out of plates. We had to wait for things to be replenished. The food was tasteless and so often a station had not been replenished. It was very disappointing. The manager was great and very responsive. She could not do anything about the poor set up. It would have been better to stagger the diners. We will not repeat the experience

Although the whole restaurant/bar was relatively empty, we were seated next to a couple working on their computers, clicking away with bright screens, in the alcove area that doesn’t have air flow to keep the windows from fogging. It was disappointing, but when I let the matre d’ know, he was very responsive to our complaint, and although we had already had our drinks, paid and were leaving, offered to improve our experience by buying us a drink at a table that had the nice view, the clear window, and no clicking computers. It made up for the initial poor seating, but I’m not sure why we were seated there to begin with, given the number of empty tables with the better views.

A group of us, 8 in all, visited the Top of the Mark this past Saturday, Nov 16, 2024, and had an absolutely terrific time dancing and listening to Carla Helmbrecht (what talent!). The dance floor was filled with peeps (we loved dancing to "Fly Me To The Moon" and "The Way You Look Tonight"! The view on the 19th floor was breathtaking. The sky was perfectly clear and we could see bridge to bridge, Salesforce Tower, the Pyramid, Sutro Tower, Alcatraz - amazing! The table service was attentive without being intrusive, as always. The appetizers and cocktails were deeeelish. We've been going to the Top of the Mark for over 15 years and it hasn't lost one step in charm and fun. A great spot for date night, a party, as special gathering or an evening, solo!

We went on a Friday night for my birthday. We were seated at one of the corner tables. The views were amazing and the tapas were filling. Drinks were really good, too.

The Top of the Mark is always a fun adventure. We had some great food and drinks. You can't beat the views of course! Our servers were very attentive and professional. We do wish that they would bring back dancing and entertainment to the venue.
