Ulele (pronounced you-lay-lee) celebrates the vibrant fusion of ingredients from Florida waters and land once home to many Native Americans, including the legendary young princess Ulele.

Located on the Hillsborough River in Tampa Heights, 400 yards from the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. Indoor and outdoor waterfront dining. Lunch and dinner daily. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Featuring intricately flavored, visually appealing dishes prepared on our 10' round barbacoa grill.

Ulele operates in the lovingly re-imagined 1903 Tampa Heights Water Works building, which also includes its Ulele Spring Brewery to provide a number of craft beers on tap. Next door to Water Works Park.

Casual attire is fine, but we don’t allow sleeveless shirts on men in the indoor dining rooms.

    Vic was an excellent server. He had great recommendations. We enjoyed the chicken risotto and the seafood risotto. Both were fantastic. And the bourbon butter cake for dessert was amazing!

    Pick a sunny afternoon bring your friend , friends or love and enjoy the environment and food. The food was very good but remember the seafood comes from Southern waters not the North’s cold waters. Just different not better or worse. ( I’m biased so don’t judge my opinion) 😁

    Our server, Pamela was wonderful, as were everyone who stopped by our table. The wine list is nicely varied with reasonable prices. Our fish were wonderfully prepared. Only slight downside is noise…All in all, great restaurant, will always return when visiting Tampa.

    We were a party of 4 for lunch on a rainy day. We sat upstairs and had a great experience! Love the ambience; casual yet upscale. We had the calamari and it was crispy and delicious. I opted for the grilled grouper with wild rice. Excellent. My husband got the shaved ribeye sandwich with french fries. Also fabulous. Our guests enjoyed their meals as well. Service was prompt and courteous. We will be back!

    have been visiting this restaurant for a long time and the food has never taken so long and when they brought it to the table it was completely cold. Overall last night was a bad experience

    There were 4 of us, celebrating a birthday, and no one was blown away by their meal. The alligator tail, ulele salad and fried okra were the highlights. Other food ordered was the muffins (very dry), meatloaf entree, braised pork entree, crackling’ pork shank and the seafood risotto. The risotto is what I ordered - the butter-poached lobster claw was missing completely (no claw meat in the dish at all) as well as the charred corn cream sauce. I mentioned it as soon as the waitress came to check on us but she didn’t think lobster was meant to be in the dish so I let it go. I did end up checking the menu and saw I did in fact read lobster claw and let her know when she returned. I ate every bite, it was good, just missed the lobster and sauce. The waitress asked if I wanted something to take home. I declined as we were full. I did pay full price for the risotto and that was a turn off. First visit for us and we likely won’t be back.

    I was excited to dine at Ulele for the first time, but unfortunately, my experience did not meet my expectations. The food took about an hour to arrive, and when it did, one of the dishes contained undercooked shrimp. While the manager was very kind and quickly provided a replacement, consuming undercooked seafood can be a health concern. I understand that it may have been a particularly busy day, but I hope extra care is taken to ensure all dishes are properly prepared. The manager provided great service, and I truly appreciate the effort, but I wanted to share this feedback in hopes of helping improve the dining experience for future guests

    Always love the experience of Ulele but food was way over salted. Less salt in the kitchen would allow guests to add if they want more. Once it's cooked, there is no taking it out.
