Union League is always an elegant and delicious experience. Although expensive (think New York prices), this special place in New Haven provides an incredibly singular dining experience for any special occasion with friends or family. First, the service is second to none; everyone is attentive and warm and wants patrons to have the most enjoyable experience. Second, The food is expertly prepared; my favorite dishes are duck breast and tuna tartare. The meat is skillfully ready at your specified temperature, and the seafood is always fresh. Many of these fine-dining restaurants come up short when dessert arrives. Union League’s pastry chef creates gorgeous and diverse desserts for which we can always find room at the end of our meal. Whenever I want to show someone a gem, I take them to Union League.

Union League is always a great experience. The appetizers, entrees, and desserts are always delicious creative, *and* visually pleasing. Sugar pumpkin bisque, fois gras, and salmon appetizers were amazing. Our halibut, salmon 'pastrami', and roast chicken entrees were each a wonderful combination of complex, delicate flavors and were perfectly cooked, made with such fresh ingredients. Truly a fine dining experience, highlighted by superior friendly service. We very much enjoyed our server.

Elegant dining room, cosy in winter with a big fireplace. The food was excellent, especially my salmon soufflé appetizer with spinach in a lobster bisque. It was so pretty. Service was very smooth and friendly and I would recommend for a special occasion in particular.

Waitress gave very good recommendations on food and drink. Foods served were delicious too.

We had the chicken dish and the beef Wellington, Both were excellent. We had the soufflé for dessert and it too was flavorful. We’ve eaten there numerous times before but they were not on Saturday. The ambience before was great but the packed rooms and noise level was too much to enjoy the evening. The waitress and service though was excellent in spite of the crowded room. We’ll be back but not on a Saturday.

Food is always amazing both in presentation and flavors in a beautifully classic environment. The star of the show was Johnathan. He truly put experience back in dining experience. The art has been lost in most places and he is a gem. Thank ULC for another night of memories.

Very nice evening with my daughter. We enjoyed catching up in what felt like a very intimate setting where we could converse easily. Wonderful ambience.

The is a wonderful restaurant. The food and service were superb. The noise level is usually not as loud as it was this time, but we were next to a boisterous table of seven. This was unusual from our experience. Highly recommended.

The service was impeccable and the food was sublime. This may have been the best food I’ve ever had! The waiter was knowledgeable and the staff provided us complimentary desserts and a card for me and my partner’s anniversary! We will definitely be returning, there’s no place like it.
