   Wilfred's has become a worn out cliche. Service was poor and inattentive. The selection and quality of food in the buffet was poor. What once was outstanding is now a faded replica of its former self (much like the old railroad hotel that it is housed in).

   Overall the Brunch was delicious, however the Benedict egg were way to much cooked. I returned 3 times to exchange the meal. The egg yolk were hard. It was not a Benedict. I was desapoited for the price of the Brunch , I expect perfection . I came last summer and they were exceptional. I had expectation today but no.. Thank you

   Congrats to Chef, great food. Seafood was slightly lacking spices. Nice, old school ambiance, just like Chateau Laurier style. The only negative thing was the service. Long wait between the plates, long wait for the wine after food was served. Everything was lacking coordination. Servers were running around like chickens in a barn. On top of that we had a bottle of some blue cleaner along with a dirty cloth as a view on near by table while we were devouring the desert. This restaurant definitely needs a serious service director….

   Food was delicious. Unfortunately, we had to wait an hour for our second course to arrive. Finally after an hour, they actually brought out dessert before the second course by mistake! So we had to wait a little more. And when the dessert was brought out after we finally received and ate our second course, we had to wait for cutlery. Not great service for the cost of the Valentines dinner!

   The special Valentine's Day dinner was just superb. Delicious food, stylishly presented, with excellent attentive services, in an elegant setting. A nice romantic experience.

   We live in Ottawa and regularly enjoy a breakfast at Wilfred's as a treat for special occasions or when we have out-of-town guests. The service (once again pleased to have been taken care of by Dave) is outstanding, and we had a lovely table by the window with a stunning view. Because we are 'regulars', we thought that the food was not quite as nice as the last time we were there for breakfast a few months ago. Little things like the lack of smoked salmon...as always, the sweet maple crepes were delicious. Regardless, we will return. (PS We LOVE the recent renovations to Zoe's!)

   Very unusual set-up for allowing pre-booked diners to enter the establishment. An entire group of people awkwardly standing at the reception, checking in and having coats taken and then left to continue waiting another 15 minutes until your name is called. Food was very good and our table staff was fantastic and very attentive. Our group of 5 had a very pleasant brunch. Champagne selection is good although very overpriced so we stuck with Ontario Niagara sparkling, perfect for Mimosa’s.

   Compared to our pre-covid experience, the buffet selection was disappointing. There was no omelette station, the salad selection wasn't as varied, the roast beef selection (flank steak) was down right poor and there was no smoked salmon. However, our server was excellent and his attention to detail was very much appreciated. We also noticed that the overall ambience of the hotel has somewhat deteriorated since our last visit. The brass work everywhere throughout the hotel, especially in the main lobby area, has not been maintained in some time, which is a shame, given the fact that it was an eye popping trademark at one time. Overall, the food was that was served was good, it's just that the overall experience was not as we remembered, based on our past experiences; however, we would still recommend it to others and we will be back again, ourselves.

   My son & I rang in the New Year late. First weekend of Winterlude, the hotel was bustling. Food was excellent.

    A really delicious brunch with lots of options to choose from. I said to my husband that we should do this more often. I found the quality of the food was worthy of the price and of course, my favourite is the desserts. It was a full house and the service, especially our server, was very personable and efficient. It is great to have a restaurant too that serves good coffee.
