Yoshi's has served Japan's best traditional dishes to Bay Area patrons since 1972. The menu highlights artfully arranged sushi, fresh grilled seafood, classic Japanese dishes, and vegetarian fare. Patrons can kick off their shoes in the traditional Japanese tatami seating or dine at tables. Expert sushi chefs create sushi and sashimi to order either in the restaurant or in the jazz house. Start the evening in the cocktail lounge before dinner or have a nightcap after taking in a show in the jazz house.

Great venue - seated immediately with my reservation and waiter was on top of everything. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. The venue was full when we arrived but once the show started (at 7p) we literally had the restaurant to ourselves. Parking was plentiful and convenient.

Excellent restaurant and concert venue. Food is very high-quality and delivery is fast without long-waits. The waiters and bus boys manage their tables extremely well. The restaurant is very spacious and accommodating. If you appreciate fine dining at a fair price you can’t do better than Yoshi‘s. The restaurant is very spacious and accommodating.

It had been a few years since we had dined at Yoshi's but I must say, they did not skip a beat. The service was great, the waitstaff informative, patient and attentive. Recommendations were spot on and the meal was absolutely delicious. The attention to detail with regards to the customer experience is exemplary. Cannot wait to dine there in December before our next show. Yoshi's - you are a class act!

I've been to Yoshi's many times for dinner before a show. I've always enjoyed the food and the ambience. Last night, however, the service was really a detriment to the experience. Our food arrived serially. My wine arrived, while my partner had to wait at least 15 minutes to get his sake. His entree arrived so after waiting 5 minutes, I encourage my partner to eat his while it was still hot, ok per Emily Post. It was a good thing because my entree arrived at least 15 minutes later. Although mine was hot and quite tasty, the lack of communications from the waiter, who had to be flagged down twice to get updates on food and drink, really diminished the experience. It is a rare experience at Yoshi's and I hope it continues to be very rare indeed.

Second time for us. First was for Paul Taylor. This time for Spyrogyra 50th anniversary. Both times it was an awesome experience. Food was excellent! Service excellent. Music was well mixed and not too loud. Only sorry I didn’t come here sooner. This place is as close to perfect as it can get. We love this place ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ !!!!

If you’re going to a show at Yoshi’s make a reservation at the restaurant to get reserved seating. Food is good and you get good seats for the show.

A large busy open dining experience before a show is a great way to start the evening. Staff is very friendly & helpful. The menu is sparse but the fish/sushi is fresh but expensive. But you can have a quick bite instead of an entire meal. After dining you line up to find your seat. I like the smaller venue, not a bad seat in the theater, as opposed to thousands of people. I recommend Yoshi’s for a fun night out in Oakland. Take the ferry, drive and park in the huge parking garage next door to Yoshi’s. The Average White Band brought back many memories and continued rocking out the crowd with their soulful band.

We got there and there was a long line because we got there before the restaurant opened. But, they sat everyone very quickly. The food was delicious, and our server very attentive. We had a wonderful time.
