About this restaurant

  • Great for live music
  • Lively
  • Good for special occasions
Yoshi's has served Japan's best traditional dishes to Bay Area patrons since 1972. The menu highlights artfully arranged sushi, fresh grilled seafood, classic Japanese dishes, and vegetarian fare. Patrons can kick off their shoes in the traditional Japanese tatami seating or dine at tables. Expert sushi chefs create sushi and sashimi to order either in the restaurant or in the jazz house. Start the evening in the cocktail lounge before dinner or have a nightcap after taking in a show in the jazz house.

Eating at Yoshi's prior to attending the event is the way to go. Selection is expansive and quality was excellent. It helps to be with someone who knows Japanese cuisine to help with the ordering. The wait person was excellent and we received our seat selection at the table prior to entering the theater for the concert. Quite stressless.

One of the best meals ever. I had a few things in my mind walking in that our server also recommended and wow were they all incredible. The Kazuo Platter was phenomenal. We had tickets to a show (The High Kings) as part of a birthday weekend trip for my wife and was advised to do dinner here as well as you get reserved seating and boy did that pay out. They sat my family in a booth in the most perfect location. My wife was over the top impressed and grateful. I would recommend eating at Yoshi’s 100%.

Tasty food, nice pre-show dinner place. The best part is you get good seats for the show with dinner reservations.

Excellent service, tasty seafood ramen, and good seats at a fine jazz show, all for $200 for both of us. A good deal.

Food was good but you should probably research Japanese cuisine prior as to have an idea of what you may like.

Let me start by saying Yoshi's is a dynamite venue where everyone should go, and the food is by far off the chain. It has good people, good vibes, and outstanding service, and it's one of my favorite places. God bless the whole Team at Yoshi's, for putting on the best service ever. And the sound is the best I've heard in years. Keep up the good work, how can I get a part-time job at Yoshi's working the ticket, booth, or the sound. I'm on Happy Camper!
